![]() He soon found the future X-Man Bishop from the year 2055 AD of Earth-31393. Immortus himself remained undetected by Apocalypse and disguised himself as a seemingly insane man named Bender who claimed to be the janitor in what he referred to as the "Axis of Time". He then recruited various allies to help kidnap telepaths from the modern era of Earth-92131 and used their psychic powers to destroy the current universe and create a new one where he reigned supreme. He found himself in Immortus' citadel and spent centuries understanding its secrets. After realizing that his conquest of Earth would forever be stymied by his enemies, he stole Cable's computer and used its time travel function to travel to Limbo to secure victory once and for all. Limbo was, at one "time", taken over by Apocalypse of Earth-13393, a possible future of Earth-92131 in the year 3999 AD. Kang's city-base of Chronopolis was depicted as existing outside of time, and therefore could have been in temporal Limbo. Instead of killing his foes, Rom banished Dire Wraiths to Limbo. It was later discovered that Phantus had just been a hoax, perpetrated to trick Thor into giving up Mjolnir's temporal abilities. Thor once tried saving the planet Phantus, home of the Space Phantoms, from Limbo by expending all of Mjolnir's time travel abilities. Temporal Limbo was primarily been visited by the Avengers and their allies, such as Thor. Its primary occupants were the giant Tempus, the Space Phantoms, and Immortus. It was ruled by Immortus from his castle Tenebrae, which was the primary point of interest there. Human beings within Temporal Limbo might have imagined that time passed there, since they were conditioned to think in such a way, but they could not age or die there. Universe in Temporal Limbo was comprised of a single, ever-changing moment in which everything that ever was, is, and could be coexisted. It was a dimension that was unique in that it existed outside the time-stream and thus possessed no time. Temporal Limbo was a timeless realm used for time travel. To those within Limbo, it appeared roughly analogous to a planet, with a solid surface at one earth gravity and a sky devoid of stars. Limbo was a sort of "pocket universe", whose physical and temporal scope were extremely limited compared to the universe that ordinary human beings inhabited. ![]() Limbo was a place outside of time historically ruled by Immortus.
